Why do we compare ourselves to others?
Why do we perpetually think the grass is greener or that someone else’s life is better?
Quite often, I find myself realizing this whether having conversations with friends or colleagues.
For example, while on a routine conference call with a boutique consulting client today I was overcome with the awareness that my client was unable to see her own progress in developing her brand because she struggled (as most of us do) with being present and acknowledging her own progress due to the fact that she was comparing her business to others that are much more established.
Over the weekend, I had a different yet underlyingly similar conversation with a styling client who could not get past on what was absent in her life. It was as if she refused to embrace all the good that was apparent, including her dedication to making herself more of a priority.
Does any of this resonate?
It certainly does for me! While I certainly struggled with whether or not to write on this subject, I felt compelled to share and am beyond curious to here your thoughts!
