I will admit I had been feeling a bit under the weather this week. And as uncomfortable as it was to surrender to the downtime my body craved, I’m grateful for it because the time in stillness helped me get realigned with myself and the goals I’d like to accomplish before the end of the year.
In January, I started a fitness challenge and started a weight training routine that helped me increase my bone density and improved my muscle definition. During that same time, I was also learning bachata choreography. Once the dance season wrapped up and weight training became my only source of fitness; I found myself looking less and less forward to each session. After 9 months of rotations, I still LOVE weight training, and recommend it for women (especially over 40) – but if I’m honest I’d grown very bored of the monotony that is part of the strength training process.
This said, for the next few months I’ve decided to make space for some of the other physical activity I also LOVE and get back to enjoying moving my body again.
Starting Sunday, Oct 1 I will be starting a new routine including more dance, Barre and Pilates. Knowing how busy the upcoming holiday season can also get, I’ve also decided I wanted to get back on track with my pro/post-biotics and collagen supplements. I went with a subscription this time to make sure I don’t fall off track. While it’s not a requirement to participate I much appreciate your trust and support and I think these will greatly improve OUR results.
