It doesn’t surprise me that many of you may not feel the same but I truly live for organizing a closet. Instead of a night out on NYE, I opted for a quiet dinner and drinks with my husband, and I woke the next day ready to purge the things that I no longer need from my closet.
I can’t explain how therapeutic it is for me to rid from my life the items that no longer align with the woman I am becoming.
Before the holidays, I also had the pleasure of working with a client and helping her not only reorganize her closet but also determine which items needed tossing, or replacing. The best part is that she is actually excited to go SHOPPING now! It warms my heart to be able to be part of her process, and I’d love to be able to do the same for you!
In addition to virtual styling I also offer personal shopping.
Be sure to check these service options out and don’t forget the closet tips below:
DON’T BE AN UNDERWEAR HOARDER
Narrow down your underwear to a favorite 12-14 pairs. When a pair starts to get old and frayed, toss it out and replace it.
PLACE LIKE WITH LIKE
Hang your clothing within categories (blouses, pants, skirts, and dresses) and subcategories (long-sleeve, mini, strapless, and dark colors). It’ll make everything easier to find.
HANG WITH ORDERLY PRECISION
Place all the items facing the same way so it looks neater and makes it easier to go through your wardrobe.
ORDER YOUR DRAWERS
Fill your drawers in the order you get dressed (undergarments, socks, or stockings in the top drawers, with shirts, sweaters and pants below).
KEEP JEWELRY ON TRAYS
Use attractive serving trays to organize necklaces, brooches, and other jewelry. Store them on shelves so you can pull them out easily.
Happy Organizing!
