I took a much needed social media hiatus this past month.
The thing is, I didn’t make the conscious decision to do so; my body did. Per usual, I had been taking on to much, conceiving too many grandiose ideas and attempting to do them ALL AT THE SAME TIME.
To my surprise, my sleep patterns became erratic, I kept waking up in the middle of night and suddenly I found myself unable to sleep more than 4-5 hours at a time. Was that bad? In the short term I’d say not but over the course of a few weeks I’d confess that I am not cut out to operate under those circumstances.
Did I mention that, in addition to editing Part II of Closet Envy (more to come soon) and upping the ante regarding the frequency of blog posts – in hindsight it is no wonder I was running on empty.
All this is to say, I empathize with the entrepreneur’s journey (I’m sure you know this!) but despite the ongoing demands of your time and constant need to make decisions don’t be like me and wait til you have physical stress symptoms that come along to stop you in your tracks.
Pace yourself. Take breaks and don’t expect to build Rome in a Day.
